“Carmen and I were ultimately inspired by two of the most popular Chinese porcelain patterns that have been available for many years,” <\/em>says Wendy.\u00a0“The first\u00a0<\/em>design features a muted modern palette; using various tones of pinks and blues. The Ching Tung blue and white porcelain pattern was the inspiration as its beauty has also captivated the hearts of those in the West for many generations. The French call it ‘blanc de Chine’. There are various blue and white porcelain patterns which lend themselves to a Chinoiserie feel in design and decor. The various pieces could be reinterpreted for a bridal shower, baby shower and\/or even a water pastel colour themed wedding.”<\/em><\/p>

The delicate blue-and-white tableware, which emanated the perfect cultural note, along with gold-plated cutlery, were provided by Plate Occasions<\/a>.<\/p>

Truffle Cake & Pastry<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0provided the scrumptious cakes and pastries<\/a> that reflected not only the Year of the Rooster, but also the metallic theme of the first tablescape.<\/p>

Carmen and Wendy explain, “The second design\u00a0features the traditional rich reds and gold colour palette. It was inspired by the vintage Chinese Mun Shou Longevity porcelain pattern with the colour red representing happiness and joy. Even though this table top was set for a traditional Chinese New Year affair, many of the floral and decorative details could also be reinterpreted for other celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and so forth.” \u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Event Rental Group<\/a> provided the scarlet-tinged traditional Chinese tableware, including the glittery champagne flutes and cutlery. Le Dolci<\/a>\u00a0created some traditional Chinese New Year sweets to match the Mun Shou Longevity porcelain.<\/p>
