One of the best things about being a Maid of Honour or Best Man is getting to plan the Bachelorette\/Bachelor party. Let\u2019s be honest, you probably started planning your friend\u2019s \u2018big\u2019 day long before they were even engaged and now, it\u2019s your time to shine. Here are some things you may want to avoid when planning a Bachelorette\/Bachelor party.<\/p>\n

1. Not having a plan<\/strong>: Unfortunately, \u2018just going to the bar\u2019 is not an acceptable plan for your best friend\u2019s bachelorette. The biggest mistake that friends make is assuming that going to a bar and drinking will be enough. But this isn\u2019t your run of the mill night out \u2013 make sure you go the extra mile for your friend, they would do the same for you!<\/p>\n

2. Not budgeting<\/strong>: Before you decide where to go and what to do, make sure you have a budget in mind. Talk to the other members of the bridal party and anyone that might be attending and see what they are willing to spend on the party. Since they will also be paying for a portion of the bride or groom\u2019s cost make sure you factor this in. It sounds boring, but the budget is crucial to planning a great bachelorette because you want everyone to have fun without worrying about making rent that month (or worse, not showing up at all).<\/p>\n

3. Not considering the bride\u2019s wishes<\/strong>: It\u2019s great if you want to surprise your friend, but they should at least have some input on what the party looks like. For instance, if the bride or groom isn\u2019t a big partier and you plan the whole night around clubbing \u2013 you might end up with a disappointed friend. An easy way to ensure that they have a say while at the same time are surprised is to simply ask them a series of questions (bar v. cottage; weekend away v. big night out etc.) and then use their answers to craft the perfect party.<\/p>\n

4. Taking\/posting too many pictures<\/strong>: In the age of Instagram and Snapchat, it is almost impossible for someone to have a night out without putting all of the pictures online. But this can quickly get out of hand if guests don\u2019t know what is okay to post. It\u2019s probably not a great idea to have a picture of the bride getting a lap dance or sitting on the bathroom floor at the end of the night. Respect your friend and maybe keep some of the more risqu\u00e9 moments between the bachelorette attendees.<\/p>\n
