Perhaps you were in the midst of planning your dream escape, maybe you have put down deposits on hotels and flights and are now wondering if you should cancel or hold out for the chance to take that dream trip.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Should we postpone our honeymoon?<\/h2>\n<p>If your honeymoon is planned for anytime between now and July, we\u2019d say it\u2019s best to get in touch with your travel advisor, and any places you have bookings to talk about how to postpone. As disappointing as it is to have to cancel travel plans, the reality is the travel industry will not be back up and running for a number of months. (If you\u2019re suffering from cabin fever, head over to Pinterest and start some inspo-boards!) When it comes to actually booking a honeymoon for later in 2020 or early in 2021, you should keep a couple things in mind:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>Firstly, even though a hotel or resort may be taking bookings now for future travel, they may not be a viable business by the time you are ready to travel. Check with a travel agent for the best advice on what companies you can trust to still be around.<\/li>\n<li>Secondly, be prepared to buy travel insurance \u2014 specifically cancellation and interruption policies. First off, investing money into the Canadian economy will help businesses here at home recover faster from the pandemic. Small businesses like restaurants, boutique resorts and hotels have suffered heavily due to COVID-19 and will need as much support as they can get.
