Unfortunately, if you’ve had you postpone your wedding to 2021 or even 2022 – your original wedding date or season may not be available. This means that you may find yourself getting married in the late fall or early winter instead of the spring and vice versa. As such, there are some things to consider tweaking if your wedding season has changed.

Accessories

If you planned on having some fun accessories for you and your bridal party for photos, these may need to change. For instance, if you originally planned on having parasols for your summer wedding and are now getting married in the snow, consider some faux fur shawls, or Ugg like boots to keep your maids cozy!

Florals

Unfortunately, some flowers are not available year round, or acquiring them off season is difficult and expensive. Head over to Pinterest and search your new season + florals and get inspired. Then chat with your florist about adjusting your blooms for the big day.

<a href="https://www.eventsource.ca/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/PurpleTree0012.jpg"class="link-image link-image_wide" rel="gallery">

Photo Courtesy of Purple Tree Wedding Photography

Food

If you’ve had to move your wedding to a different season, you may want to revamp your menu to include some seasonal favourites. For instance, if you are now getting married in the summer, consider lemonade at your ceremony. On the other hand, if you have moved your date to the late fall, adding some comfort food like a hearty soup or mac and cheese will keep your guests happy!

Timeline of The Day

You may have arranged your day so that your ‘I do’ moment happens during golden hour. Depending on the time of year, this may need to change as the sun sets later or earlier than you originally planned.
