Can't speak highly enough about the RVM. We had an amazing wedding that went of without a hitch. Great staff and customer service. I highly recommend.

I held my baby shower at the Royal Venetian at the end of January 2019. A beautiful venue located in Aurora was exactly what I was looking for to accommodate 60+ guests. The food was fantastic and I received many compliments from my guests. The day-of coordinator was extremely helpful and attentive to my requests. It was a pleasure to work with Gianluca while finalizing details; he was very accommodating with my requests to come to the venue early and set up, and I never felt rushed at the end of the event when we cleaned up. Overall, it was a very positive experience and my family and I intend to hold many future events at this venue.

I am writing this review so that another newlywed couple will not have the same disappointing wedding experience as my husband and I. We hosted our wedding reception for approximately 150 guests at The Royal Venetian Mansion in September 2018 and it was honestly the biggest mistake I could have made. They ruined our special day and I will forever have bad memories of our wedding day. This venue is operated by a brother (Gianluca) and sister (Maria) pair and you should not trust your big day in their hands. First and foremost, they are inexperienced and require constant questioning and prompting on your part in order for them to do their job. They are also the owners of this venue so every dollar saved goes into their pocket, as a result they will cut corners where possible in order to save themselves money.
This is a newer venue and I booked it because it was a convenient location. I chose it over more reputable places like Chateau Le Parc, Paramount, Hazelton Manor, Eglinton Grand etc because I did not want my guests to drive out to Vaughan/Woodbridge nor did I want them to worry about downtown parking. I was unsure about trusting a new venue with a once in a life time event but I was hoping if I put in more effort and planned more thoroughly then our day will go smoothly. But ultimately, there are things that are the venue's responsibility and you must trust they will hold up their end of the bargain after you have already paid upfront.
Below are the errors and omissions on the venue's part. Unfortunately, we were not able to fix any of these problems because we didn’t find out until after the wedding. Honestly, as bride and groom, you do not have the time on the day to stop and track down someone to fix the issues. You can only trust that the venue is doing their job while you're celebrating with your family and friends.
1. Signature cocktails were not served during hors d’oeuvres - Like most venues, we had the option of paying to serve specialty bride and groom cocktails during cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres. Our guests told us that the drinks were not served and only red and white wine were given out.
2. Side asparagus was missing from the entrees - The menu was chosen weeks in advance and the venue forgot the side vegetable and only served the steak/chicken. You may want to blame the kitchen staff for this error but the unbelievable part is that the owner (Gianluca) is the chef in the kitchen and also the one who went through menu selection with us!
3. Floor plan/seating chart was not followed by venue – We had given the floor plan and seating chart (with meal selection) to the venue in advance but our cake table ended up BEHIND the head table instead of in front. Servers did not know which entree the guests had ordered and served the wrong meal, including my own parents who were given the wrong entree!
4. Fresh fruit platters missing and Waffle station not operational - We had paid to have late night stations served after dinner. Our guests informed us there were no fresh fruit platters and they were turned away at the waffle station because the venue had run out of waffle batter early on
5. Shortage of plates and cutlery - In addition to missing/shortage of food at the late night stations, there were not enough plates and cutlery so again, guests were turned away from the stations.
6. Shortage of coffee/tea - Coffee and tea were supposed to be served at the end of dinner to guests at their table. At least one table of guests told us that their waiter brought over sugar and cream but never returned with coffee and tea. They later asked the waiter and were told that the venue had run out.
Many of these errors can be attributed to poor management or just downright cutting corners to save money. We questioned the venue afterwards and they claimed that the feedback we got was false and accused our guests of lying! We had already paid in full prior to the wedding and at this point there was nothing we could do.
In the end, this is not the experience you want your guests to have especially when some have travelled halfway across the world to attend your wedding. So many things are out of your control and can go wrong on your wedding day, the last thing you should have to worry about is whether the venue is doing their job. You’re going to pay a substantial amount of money and you deserve a venue that is responsible, organized and will hold up their end of the bargain. I would advise you to stay away from this venue unless you want to spend your big day worrying and micromanaging everything because you deserve a happy and carefree day celebrating with your new husband/wife and loved ones.

I got married at the Royal Venetian back in November 2018 and it was the best decision we made. The moment We walked in we knew that this is where we wanted to have our wedding the stunning entrance leaves an unforgettable impression. The moment my wife and I booked Maria and Gianluca were amazing and so helpful, my wife was able to go and make sure the decor was perfect and Maria was always there with a big smile reassuring her that it will be beautiful. The day of the wedding was one I will never forget the service was 100% the bartender was fantastic, food was delicious and all my guest were so impressed with the incredible venue , Maria and Gianluca were there the whole evening making sure everything ran smoothly. I am forever thankful and I recommend for all your Royal events , The Royal Venetian .
