To the delight of the special event industry, downtown TO now has another culture-rich, ultra-hip event space added to its roster. With an edgy, yet welcoming aesthetic, the new Loft space at Baro has all the elements planners look for in a fantastic and memorable event space! The venue fully embraces its historical roots perfectly – we love the preserved architecture, the exposed brick walls, and rustic accents throughout.

Earlier this week, The Loft at Baro held an industry event for guests to check out the freshly polished space — and it was packed from start to finish! With all five preferred caterers on hand, this event was as fun as it was delicious! Luckily our friend Anastasia from Olive Photography was on hand to capture all the sumptuous details.

No detail was spared and every element of this event was on point: from the staff outfits, to the decor (we absolutely LOVED the vintage touches), to the bounty of delicious cocktails! Signature drinks like the White Lady, the Manhattan, and the Bacardi Cocktail, were sponsored by Bacardi Canada and Brown-Forman Canada. Each drink was specially designed by the in-house mixologist and of course, were giant hits throughout the evening. I particularly loved the Manhattan, created with Jack Daniels, Italian Vermouth, and Angostura Aromatic Bitters.

The creative team at Toben Food by Design served up a tasty menu of favourites like the All American Burger, House Meatballs, and Mini Oreo Donuts!

Food Dudes crafted a savoury Tartare Bar, consisting of their Wagyu Beef Tartare, and the Smoked Mackerel. I tasted both (twice) and still couldn’t pick my favourite!

Victor Dries Curated Events presented Creamed Mushrooms and Escargot and Hot Smoked Steelhead Trout with Crispy Chicken Skin and Tartar Sauce.

The fine folks over at Encore Catering served platters of savoury Tea Sandwiches in a myriad of flavours, like a personal favourite, the Smoked Salmon and house-made Dill Cream Cheese. Yum! I also loved the freshly made Madeleines for dessert!

The team at 10tation Event Catering prepared one of my favourite dishes of the night, a Braised Lamb Neck short plate with stone-ground Cornmeal and Gremolata. I loved both the flavour and the texture of this dish, and of course, the presentation was fantastic!

A huge hit of the night was the Oyster station, presented by the in-house catering team. An extra nod for presentation as well.

Needless to say, this event was a huge success! The doors opened at 6pm, and by 6:15pm the venue was packed! The A/V courtesy of Q Ideas, the upbeat music provided by Spectrum Agency, and all the fantastic catering offerings kept guests appropriately entertained throughout the course of the evening. It’s always the little touches that make any event extra special, and we really appreciated the elegant decor and florals as well as the lovely lavender satchel favours.
