Toronto’s event scene gathered in full force on Wednesday evening for the highly anticipated open house of Portland Square, INK Entertainment Group’s newest addition to its growing portfolio of sought-after venues. Perched on the second floor at the iconic intersection of King and Portland – arguably one of the city’s most energetic hospitality corridors – the space made an immediate impression on a crowd of event professionals, creatives, and industry insiders, all captured through the lens of Indigo Visual.
Guests were welcomed into an atmosphere that felt equal parts refined and inviting. Designed with a residential New York loft aesthetic, the venue balances elevated style with comfort. Features include plush lounge seating, layered rugs, and a striking black-and-white marble bar, while six-foot windows flood the space with natural light by day and velvet curtains with warm lighting create an intimate evening atmosphere.
Spanning 2,000 square feet, Portland Square was designed with versatility in mind. Accommodating up to 100 seated or 180 standing guests, it lends itself to everything from corporate gatherings and brand activations to private celebrations and milestone events. A 16-foot marble bar anchors the room, while thoughtful amenities including a private entrance, dedicated coat check, and exclusive restrooms, ensure a streamlined and elevated guest experience.
The open house offered a glimpse into the venue’s full potential, with curated cocktails and a selection of elevated canapés by Executive Chef Marc Cheng. Highlights included Peking duck tacos, tuna tostadas, coconut chicken satay, and mushroom arancini, alongside pastrami and crudités stations. The soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies by Dreamy Decoratives were a standout. Live entertainment by Vamos Events added dynamic energy, while May Flowers, Highlite Toronto, and Tehremy brought the space to life through thoughtful décor and activations creating a seamless, immersive experience that showcased the venue’s versatility.
With its prime location, design-forward aesthetic, and full-service capabilities, Portland Square is set to become a go-to destination for Toronto’s event community – bringing people together in a space designed to celebrate, connect, and create memorable moments. A big thanks for having us down!
