Most couples getting married in Toronto look for a venue that can accommodate both the wedding ceremony and reception all in one spot, offering beautiful outdoor space and a bright airy indoor room to host guests for dinner – the Henley Room provides exactly that!
The first ever Open House at The Henley Room, hosted and styled by Bisous Events, highlighted the space’s intimate charm while accentuating the possibilities for elevated events. Located in the Argonaut Rowing Club, this hidden gem in Toronto with the most unparalleled view of the lake, is a venue that gives you a feeling of a destination wedding in Prince Edward County while giving you the convenience of being downtown-adjacent (let’s not forget free parking on-site for 120 vehicles!). Regardless of the weather or season, the view is just breathtaking. Another perk? The venue hosts just one event at a time, ensuring privacy and exclusivity. Perfect for up to 160 guests for a seated event or 200 for cocktails, making it perfect for weddings, social and corporate events.
This open house was – of course – spring influenced, bringing in the colour palette of matcha-strawberry desserts – pistachio green and soft pink. Special thanks to Tami Klein Photography for capturing all the magic and whimsical floral art. The floristry by Geneveieve, owner of used The Dulce Dwelling, used mostly lush greenery with pops of beautiful flowers. Quirky elements included extra long green beans tangled around the tulip budvases amongst the velvet draped linens and charming tableware. Furniture and tabletop rentals from Element Event Solutions created a unique head table configuration to emphasize the gorgeous centre florals, which overflowed outward to create an organic art installation.
As guests arrived, they were treated to complimentary house wines and sparkling drinks expertly served by our friends at ARVID Staffing. Paint and Keys kepts guests engaged with live music and live painting, while the Scent bar activation had guests creating their own bespoke fragrances to take home. Between sets, DJ Liam Gerussi spun upbeat pop and 90s R&B (my favourite!) to keep spirits high on the rainy April evening. Guests also enjoyed the photo booth by Frozen Moments Booth, and wedding content creator, The Bridal Bestiee joined the team to give some behind-the-scenes access to the process and the beautiful end results.
As always, Food Dudes delivered a polished and well-executed culinary experience throughout the event. Guests were welcomed with a curated station of thoughtfully prepared canapés, offering a range of flavours that felt both refined and approachable. As the evening progressed, small plated dinner options were presented at a dedicated station, allowing guests to explore at their own pace while maintaining a natural flow through the space. At the end of the evening, guests even got to take home a mini cake an extra dessert post-event.
Echoing the event’s design, a fanciful lemon-coconut-strawberry-rhubarb cake by Iced Cake Boutique was as visually cohesive as it was flavourful, seamlessly tying into the overall décor.
Thank you to The Henley Room for opening its doors and offering a glimpse into a space that lends itself so naturally to thoughtful, design-forward events. The setting provided a strong foundation for the Bisous Events team to showcase their creative direction for the upcoming season – demonstrating how intentional styling and a clear vision can transform a venue into a fully realized experience.
