A good event planner will tell you that your guests will remember the food at your event. The Food Dudes certainly did not disappoint at the Grand Opening Party for their new space, Canvas. Stationed just above to the iconic ELTE Mkt, the stunning 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse is infused with tons of natural lighting and modern finishings throughout. Complete with a dedicated bridal suite and coat check area, it’s the perfect unique space for a wedding or special event. We see more and more couples looking for modern warehouses for their weddings in Toronto, and it’s wonderful to see a fresh, new space that works so well!

We had a great time at the venue’s official launch party sampling many phenomenal dishes. Fortunately, Ted Chai Photography was on hand to capture the details of this delicious event.

As you would have guessed, the exceptional cuisine was a prevalent theme for this open house, with several vendors offering fabulous food and drink options. Rodney's Oyster House featured their Malpeque oysters with five yummy sauces and garnishes. Toben Food by Design served delicious Kung Pao Chicken among other things! The Food Dudes had several food stations set up throughout the space – my personal favourite was the Striped Bass Station featuring a squid ink risotto that nearly had me crying tears of joy! The short rib station had a quick-moving lineup throughout the entire evening and with good reason! This dish was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection; the king oyster mushroom accompaniment was divine.

Passed appetizers were abundant throughout the entire evening. Guests had multiple options to choose from: my favourite being the duck confit on scallion buns. All of the dishes not only tasted fantastic, but looked absolutely gorgeous!

The food stations not only kept guests well-fed, but doubled as visual entertainment as well!

We love the personalized cookie favours – always a fun guest giveaway!

We found the entertainment choices to be very well-suited to the venue. There were four spectacular live artists turning blank canvas’ into masterpieces throughout the evening. One artist painted a Toronto scene using nothing more than a regular credit card (so cool)! The talented team at Sole Power provided live music – the duo on stage are a powerhouse!

This event was a huge success with entertained guests packing the venue all night long. The Food Dudes pulled out all of the stops, providing delicious fare and friendly, warm servers.
