As a craft beer lover, I was thrilled to attend the Junction Craft Brewing industry night and brand reveal event. It was also an excellent opportunity to reacquaint myself with their incredible event space. My team has worked at the brewery before, but because of its raw industrial look and versatile layout, it looks different with every event that takes place there. The brick walls, the gargantuan steel fermenters, the warm glow of candles and twinkle lights – its instant atmosphere in an innately cool spot. Located in the Stockyards neighbourhood of Toronto in a 1930’s art deco incinerator building, the brewery features 23ft high ceilings, tons of natural light, and an open floor plan that can accommodate anywhere from 50-300 guests. Thanks to Tahlia Knigge Fine Art Photography for capturing the fun night!
The space was decked out for the event with glowing marquee letters from Wild and Free Marquee that welcomed you into the main party space. Higgins Event Rentals provided the furniture that allowed guests to choose their own adventure – chill on the lounge, graze over communal tables, or nestle up to sleek wood bars serving a plethora of incredible food and drink.
My favourite libation of the evening was the Seaberry Sparkl e- a beer cocktail (yum!) made with Junction Seaberry Sour and topped with sparkling wine. These beer cocktails were mixed expertly by DGS Events and served with poise and style. I paired this cocktail with a warm, salty pretzel smothered in mustard from Toben Food by Design. But rest assured, this wasn’t the only treat on offer; far from it! The team at Toben brought their A-game offering up a huge selection of incredibly tasty delights: everything from 4-spiced seared tuna, delicious black angus sliders, Toben’s signature warm, artisanal flatbread, wild mushroom risotto cakes, butter-poached lobster grilled cheese, hand-made gnocchi, harissa honey chicken, melt-in-your-mouth southern smoked brisket and so much more! Food was in abundance and certainly impressed the guests. To cap it all off, I finished the evening indulging in delicious churros and a brownie with the cutest vanilla milkshake served in a shot glass – bottoms up!
Sole Power provided the music and it was the perfect addition. Eclectic yet approachable, I was dancing to everything from retro soul to classic rock to current hip hop. There was something for everyone. I promise you, as a music lover and musician, I’m a firm believer that your choice of entertainment can make or break a party. In this case, party made.
Working with Sarah and the entire team at Junction Craft has become such a joy for the Love by Lynzie team that we will be hosting a Pop-Up Chapel there on May 22, 2020. We are excited to share that 10 couples will be able to marry in this incredibly unique space for a brewery style ceremony and cocktail hour. If you are interested in learning more or booking your spot at this chapel, visit popupchapel.ca.
A massive congratulations to Sarah, Stuart, Tom, and the entire Junction Craft Brewing team on a sleek new brand launch, an excellent party, and such success on building Toronto’s most popular and beloved craft beer.
