The Gates is an Extraordinary venue with an Extraordinary host Elizabeth!! Thank you for an amazing event we had a great time !! I am so glad I listened to my friend when he recommend to contact Elizabeth , Once my boyfriend and I with our team see the venue we fall in love with it , The venue is warm, comfortable for any type of event !! Thanks again Elizabeth for all your help, your warm welcoming and true honesty which is rare this days with your added creativity professional leadership skills to make our event a dream come true we can't wait to do it again !! We booked this venue for a "Celebration of Life" for the sudden passing of my father. We wanted to come into the as early as possible to set up and have the caterers set up. We paid additional funds for a cleaning fee. We were told we could not enter until 10:00am because the Manager Elizabeth needed to check the work of the cleaners. Well, when we walked in the place was a mess. Nothing was clean. The cleaners did absolutely nothing. My friends, family and even my Mother had to clean for 2 hours. We were lucky we had help. Elizabeth had the audacity to say that she could sweep while others mopped. Are you serious? Clients cleaning the venue. What a Joke. DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE.

This has got to be the worst experience i've had dealing with a vendor. I don't think i've ever written any reviews for any place i've rented. The actual lady managing the venue is horrible, not only did she lie about the parts of the venue she can provide to us, but she is no accommodating at all. The bar was a small hole in the wall, when she promised we'd get the bigger one. Garbage is apparently the clients responsibility even though there is a cleaning fee attached to the invoice. Needless to say, Elizabeth was not great to work with. Please consider another venue.

Vendors Beware. I have been trying to get a hold of someone at this venue since October. I've tried Emailing, left multiple voice mails, tried to message on facebook, and no one has gotten back to me. It is now March. I just called from a different number, and the woman who answered refused to listen to me, talked over me, and then hung up on me. Their cheque bounced five months ago and they refuse to pay their invoice or give me a contact for the owner to speak with him directly. I highly recommend getting payment from them via credit card PRIOR to any work you do for them.

I attended an industry event at Loftraum and was very pleasantly surprised. It is an extremely unique venue that is sure to please your guests. I personally loved the exposed brick walls and the different little areas where you can be creative and plan outstanding events. I would use this space for anything from a Corporate Meeting to a Small Intimate Wedding and anything in between.
