I just hosted a birthday party with over 30 guests at the Fare Food Co and Spencer and Tosh, the two chefs who own the company were absolutely outstanding. They cater from their event space or from your home but I decided after talking to them and seeing the beautiful space in a historic downtown building that it would be easier to have the party there. I couldn't have made a better decision. The space is very open, but with banquettes that go around the room associated with high top tables and in an adjacent room, there is a large table and a large balcony that overlooks King street. From the moment that I consulted Tosh and Spencer, they were spectacular--so relaxed but very professional and clearly experienced in fine cuisine and party hosting. They proposed an amazing menu and then tailored it to some of the food intolerances our guests had. They got back to me over the phone or by email very promptly any time that I had any questions and removed all the stress that I would normally have felt hosting such an event at home. They allowed me to bring some of my own wine for which they charged a corkage fee. The night of the event could not have been more perfect. The food was beyond delicious, including mushroom croquettes, salmon aburi sushi, shrimp toast (better than any I have ever had), scallop crudo with granny smith apples, cavatelli with lobster, cod with kohlrabi & pistou, 48 hour beef short rib with wild mushroom, pomme puree and truffle. All of my guests commented on the wonderful food. And the wait staff was as great as the chefs, all charming and warm while also very professional. The barmaid was also terrific, with a fabulous selection of cocktails in her repertoire. The whole evening was so special thanks to the team at The Fare Food Co. And the cost of the event was extremely reasonable given the quality of the ingredients used in the menu. I would highly recommend chefs Spencer and Tosh and their wonderful team and event space for anyone looking for an extraordinary meal and event.
