This past week, Toronto’s event industry professionals gathered for the EventSource.ca Industry Spring Soirée, held at the city’s hottest new venue, Queens Harbour. As event and wedding pros, we often work tirelessly on our clients’ events but rarely get the chance to enjoy them ourselves, so this was a fantastic excuse to kick back, celebrate the start of the busy season, and connect with the community that makes this industry so vibrant.
Guests were invited to explore the venue’s beautiful Queen’s Garden space – a two-level showpiece adorned with lush greenery and one of Canada’s largest retractable rooftops. Interactive activations, unique decor, and delicious food stations laid the groundwork for a tremendous celebration! Our team at Rebecca Chan Events was thrilled to work with EventSource as the event planners and designers for this special occasion. A big thanks to Peek Media for the amazing recap video (below) and to Indigo Visual for capturing the evening so beautifully. We couldn’t ask for a better team to document the magic!
Every great event needs a grand entrance. We utilized the venue’s gold mirror in the entrance area and adorned it with oversized organza flowers from Tsemko Decor and fresh flowers from Gatto Flowers. Paper & Poste designed the graphics on the venue’s mirrors, which carried over the branding from the invitation all the way through to event signage. Event Graffiti was onsite to help bring the vision to life with their expert vinyl application. It made for a beautiful photo opp right from the moment guests arrived!
Upon arrival, the team at Atlantis Valet Inc provided complimentary valet. It’s always a treat after a long downtown drive, and guests really appreciated the white glove experience.
I love incorporating vinyl in unexpected places to enhance the branding of an event. We added the event title and floral graphics to the entrance doors of the venue as well. You definitely knew you were in the right place!
When we design an event, we always aim for at least one major focal point; one ‘wow’ moment to capture everyone’s attention. Our friends at Tsemko Decor created two exceptional oversized floral decor arrangements on either side of the main bar. As guests entered the space, they were immediately captivated by the scale and beauty of the installation. And, as a delightful surprise, the installation actually came to life with subtle, moving floral elements!
We love including specialty food stations at events, and this one was no different. Lalu Fun Foods excited guests with their chocoberry station, featuring fresh chocolate poured over ripe strawberries. It was a very sweet treat toward the end of the night. To keep the energy high, Drift Coffee Club provided specialty drinks like matcha strawberry lattes, yuzu lemonades and yuzu matcha spritzes.
PhotoboothTO‘s glambot was a major highlight of the night! A high-end evolution of the 360 video booth, it provided guests with sleek, slow-motion videos perfect for social sharing! The custom graphic backdrop designed by Paper & Poste and printed by Event Graffiti served as the perfect canvas for those red-carpet-style moments.
For those looking for a moment of relaxation, The Nail and Champagne Bar provided a mobile hand massage station offering guests a welcome wellness reprieve throughout the evening.. We also loved the interactive cookie printer from SweetEvent.ca, which allowed guests that gave guests an opportunity to take a selfie or upload their own image to be printed instantly on a cookie to take home.
Over 300 event and wedding industry professionals enjoyed the event. Having the two floors at Queens Harbour made for a unique event layout where guests could to explore different activations and take in the party from various vantage points. With the retractable roof open, the view of the CN Tower provided the perfect Toronto backdrop! Michael Coombs Entertainment curated the soundtrack for the night, while EPiQVision accented the space with their sleek digital video screens and precision uplighting.
Let’s talk about the food! Queens Harbour went all out with their impressive food stations and passed canapés. The carving station, pasta bar, and their signature sushi bar were major hits among the crowd. Between the non-stop appetizers, custom cocktails, and delicious desserts, guests experienced the full range of the venue’s high-calibre in-house catering. Of course, the aesthetic wouldn’t be complete without the furniture from Element Event Solutions, who provided all the sleek bars for our specialty stations along with the cruiser tables throughout the space.
Set against a stunning venue, lush florals, and delectable eats, it was truly a night to remember for Toronto’s industry pros. We loved seeing old and new friends reconnecting as the sun set and the venue transformed into a high-energy celebration. We really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect Spring Soirée!
