“Alicky & Paul’s wedding was definitely one of our favourites from this past year. The bride and groom wanted a very non-traditional and unique wedding, as both have been married before and have children from their previous marriages. Instead of the customary layout of round guest tables and a large head table, we suggested a cocktail style wedding filled with beautiful lounge furniture, high table tops and food stations. The venue, Spencer’s at the Waterfront, was the perfect choice for this style of wedding. The floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake added to the chic, contemporary look the couple was going for.

It was an absolutely stunning wedding, filled with love and affection. We were so happy and proud to be a part of it. A huge thank you to FOS Décor for supplying the amazing décor and to Stephen Sager Photography for beautifully capturing the wedding.” – Michelle Garber & Tamara Niyazov

Art of Celebrations

“Great things come in small packages they say and that no doubt applies to this beautiful bridal shower I had the pleasure of planning and designing in the early summer of 2014. The shower was inspired by an old world English garden gathering and the theme was carried through every element of the event from the centerpieces to the china and even the cupcakes that sat on each place setting. This was a small and intimate celebration for only closest family and friends and yet it overflowed with the prettiest details.

No element of the event was underestimated or overlooked. Small yet so memorable – this made it the perfect project for someone like myself who loves design and details. This was by far one of my favourite events this past season due to its size and esthetic.” – Roxy Zapala

“One of my favourite weddings this year was one held at Trinity Chapel and the Royal Conservatory of Music. The couple was fun and creative, and put a lot of care into the little details of the day. The floral from Sweet Woodruff couldn’t have been more stunning, with an eclectic mix of lush greenery and yellow floral, accented by pops of lemons. The long banquet tables encouraged conversation, making for an intimate dinner feel. Not only was it beautiful, they had amazing food and a rocking dance party. What more can you ask for in a wedding, really?” – Rebecca Chan

“What made this wedding so special was the couple and the bride’s passion for weddings. Every wedding planner would be lucky to get a couple like this! The bride and I had talked for countless hours about her wedding before she got engaged and when I got the call to officially plan her big day, it was so exciting. When the bride loves weddings as much as you do, it makes the process easier and a lot more fun! The bride also has exquisite taste and wanted the day to be beautiful – an aspect our company puts great emphasis on.

The ceremony was dreamy and the room was so grand – especially the head table backdrop which had the wow factor. In addition, the wedding featured personal details like the bride’s favourite cupcakes for dessert, personalized #hashtag napkins and custom monogrammed menus – all these details complete the wedding vision.” – Melissa Baum

“We loved this wedding because they had a tremendous amount of fun, which is reflected in the photos. That is something that couples forget to do….sit down for a amount and take in all what is happening around them.  Steal a few moments together after the ceremony, in quiet reflection, as a newly married couple. We were able to carve out some private time in their reception room to enjoy time with just the photographer and myself, capturing some extra special moments and some great memories!” – Maria Metropoulos

“This was definitely my most memorable wedding of 2014. Not only is the couple beautiful on the outside, but they are both very warm, thoughtful and caring individuals who happen to be madly in love. They have two beautiful children together, and a daughter from a previous relationship who were included in every aspect of the wedding from start to finish, right down to the father and son matching custom-made suits.

On their invitation it stated that this would be the party of the year, and it really was! From the bride’s dress change, and awesome wedding shoes to the traditional Romanian bridal capture, a double martini luge station, deluxe bar, non-stop delicious food, fireworks, samba dancers, a Romanian band who changed outfits three different times, the guests were truly wined and dined. The décor by Classic Creations Wedding Décor was exceptional, and the entire venue was draped to give the illusion of a night club where everyone young and old, danced the night away.” – Tracey Manailescu

“This Atlantis Pavilion wedding depicted a true Chinese-Canadian wedding in Toronto. From Leslieville and North York residences to the Royal York Hotel and Edward Gardens for pictures, the couple incorporated a meaningful selection of locations that resonated their personal experiences and memories of the city. The wedding took place over the Labour Day long weekend, which called for no shortage of photo opportunities. Set against the backdrop of the CNE, the evening landscape captured a vibrant collage of lights and colors. Located atop Lake Ontario, the Atlantis Pavilion reception venue showcased an utterly romantic event location for the couple’s big day.” – Phoebe Lo

“The phrase intimate group wedding may sound like a contradiction, but it best describes a a very special wedding I worked on last June as part of the team that created My Big Fab Gay Garden Wedding. Officiated by the highly regarded gay rights activist Rev. Dr. Brent Hawkes, this World Pride sanctioned event saw 14 LGBTQ couples marry in the beautiful outdoor ceremony space at one of my favourite venues, Toronto Botanical Garden. Some of Toronto’s best vendors pitched in to give these couples a day to remember, including enVille Catering, Eatertainment, ChairMan Mills, Sweetpea’s Flowers, and eco | stems. Photographer Kate Hood ensured every special moment was captured.

The stunning perennial gardens were given that extra “WOW” factor by Nick Smith of Opening Night Flowers. Natasha Manji from Berries & Blooms transformed TBG’s Westview Terrace into a South Beach lounge for the rollicking reception.” – Christine March

“I really enjoyed working with Stefany and Nikola on their wedding for a number of reasons.  Mostly because of their relationship.  The love and respect they showed for and to one another was truly remarkable.   They talked about things, conferred with each other, they have a true partnership.  They were also wonderful clients, their gift of communication carried through with me and their other vendors as well.  They were from two distinct cultures and it was fun incorporating both the Serbian and the Greek traditions into their day.” – Danielle Andrews Sunkel

Devoted To You

“As wedding planners, we are especially motivated when we come across a fun couple with taste. Everything about this wedding exudes class, in particular the food and entertainment which were the biggest ticket items of the evening. Both the bride and groom were foodies, and the dinner menu was specifically tailored to suit their palettes – from the duck confit rillettes with fig jam on sweet potato blini to the twice baked comté cheese soufflé, walnuts, endive, grilled radicchio and pear salad to the sea salt and black pepper basted beef tenderloin with fondant potato, grilled asparagus, and shallot confit, everything was precisely paired with a choice of three reds and whites.

This Scottish themed wedding also had all groomsmen in kilts, with a bag piper leading into the grand entrance and a live band to carry the mood throughout the night. It was a truly memorable evening to all who attended.” – Carmen Luk

“Why was this one of my favourite weddings of 2014?  Well, having worked for the Distillery District many moons ago, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Archeo.  It’s the perfect venue for an intimate wedding!  Allison & Dave’s was just that, sweet and simple, with little personal touches carried throughout their wedding.  They were just good kind people and it was such a privilege to be apart of their wedding day.” – Kim Miyama
