We booked Laila Jamal for a party of 4 for a wedding in Ontario, Canada. We had a terrible experience. She arrived with a small container of make up items and no other equipment such as a light. She came completely unprepared in-spite of us telling her we were not local and had traveled internationally for the wedding so would not have lights available at our hotel. Other make up artists we used for other events came with a professional light as well as a folding chair. Laila Jamal seemed to have very minimal make up products that were of mediocre quality. She had one lip gloss shade that she used on all of us even though we requested other colors and requested matte lips, she simply did not seem to have any other products available. Same for blush, she used the same hot pink powder blush on all of us as well as the same foundation. She was unable to appropriately assess our skin shade and the foundation she used was clearly not a match for any of us. In addition to lack of variety of high quality products, she is not skilled and unable to do a good job. She could not cover basic light blemishes and under eye area and appears to be only able to do one look which is not great, from our experience. She gave all of us fish lips and told us this is the shape of our lips. She was unable to set the make up that she did apply and we were a mess in just a few hours. When I asked her to set the make up, she gave me one split second squeeze of her setting spray - blink and you miss. She is extremely over priced for the low quality services she provides and I strongly recommend you look at other artists as she was unable to re create the looks for us from pictures she has posted on her accounts.
