IBe careful!! If you are in a mentally unstable place you will be taken advantage of.
I found Fable Studios on FB. They were running a “competition” (marketing) to give a “free” studio session..makeup, pics (very nice) and $500 towards pictures afterwards. I did my research and saw great reviews so thought why not. I wrote my story ( Long story short I lost communication with my youngest son because I would not allow his wife control of MY personal life, 3 months before finding emotionally cheating texts from my husband of 37 years to some woman he met on a plane 20 years ago for 2 hours, that he could find romantic words for that he could never find for me..so I was literally BROKEN)
I went into this KNOWING that it was marketing and they’d be wanting to sell me more pics after the session but thought I’ll just say no ( or choose a couple of things and use the $500 ($500 buys a small picture and nothing else the rest is very expensive if bought piece by piece). They were GREAT, beautiful pics..worked with me when I had to change my appointment, absolutely wonderful BEFORE AND DURING! It’s the after that has caused me even more distress than I was already under.
A few days after I had a video call with the salesperson (you know the ones that talk fast, compliment you and whip things together so fast your head will spin) I wasn’t comfortable and should have spoken up (that’s on me) all I can say is my brain was literally beyond functioning at this point. I ended up pitting my $500 “freebie” into a top tier package. I ended up opening a card they recommended but it didn’t cover it so I made some payments. I tried different payment arrangements after paying a couple of grand talking to them several times and got nowhere so I told them to go ahead and take out the max on that card a second time (this time they said I shouldn’t do that because the interest charges were going to be massive the 2nd time around. I gave them another card and said to take monthly (they never touched it , I tried over and over to make more payments and they never took them! Then I finally called and said look you haven’t been taking the money and I’ve come to realize that I really can’t afford this (I found out the ex had depleted our money as well so I did not have what I thought I did (yes I explained this to them—they KNEW EVERYTHING I WAS GOING THROUGH) so I asked to go to a lower package. She said they couldn’t because they’d bought everything already. THIS IS WHERE WE HAVE OUTRIGHT LIES HAPPENING either before or when she said this. She previously told me that NOTHING was ordered or done until things were paid in full, now that I’m asking to change packages suddenly they’ve already bought everything. I don’t know which is the lie but there’s definitely BS somewhere. It CAN NOT possibly go both ways. There were months of trying to handle this but now I’m out a couple of THOUSAND dollars with literally not even my “free” picture to show for it. As far as communication, that became almost impossible after the actual sale to me. It took weeks for people to get back to me and message after message before I could speak to someone which never went anywhere anyway. I for the life of me can not figure out why they would not take my monthly payments I offered and they had said yest to but I guess I’d be out even more if they had.
So started great, loved the photo shoot, pics were beautiful but in the end I’ve lost thousands of dollars and have nothing but the memory of a photo shoot and the frustration of never being allowed to use the money I gave them for other pics. They got a couple grand + and I got nothing but more stress in my life, ripped off for a couple thousand dollars and no pictures, so as I said be very careful, because if you’re in a bad place you’ll be manipulated, lied to and be steam rolled into a bad decision, because it was definitely steamrolling sales tactics!

I’m reading the below review and thinking… really??? Photographers are expensive generally. These people made me look like a movie star. Their final product is gorgeous, they don’t work on commission or do any high pressure sales. I booked a hairstylist last year who charged me $400 for a cut and colour, the economy sucks. As an artist myself I know different people value art differently but… fable did my hair (better than my wedding stylist) they did my makeup- with lashes. Their entire team was phenomenal, and it was a team… all these people need to be paid. No one forced the reviewer to buy anything she could have got her hair and makeup done, gone one nice date that night. Went back and got her two pics and deposit back.

I’m happy. I enjoyed all of it. I do understand the desire for digital, that would be my only complaint I wish they gave you a digital copy of each chosen photo. I mean that wouldn’t put anyone out, you’ve already paid for all the work they put into the finished product it would be nice to have the option to share them not just hangs them. But I also get not offering only digital. The photographer I used for my newborn shoots also prefers to have them processed somewhere very high quality not somewhere like Walmart or vistaprint that’s will butcher the color and dpi. As an artist you want people to see quality product not make quality product & have an outside print company butcher something with your name attached.

SCAM ALERT - first of all, most of these reviews are given post-photo shoot and before paying for the product, which is where the problem starts. They ask you to leave a review on your photo shoot day and you come back to pay another day. First, you were likely told you won a giveaway when actually everyone wins the giveaway to get you in there. When you go to review your photos, you will be highly pressured into spending thousands of dollars. Keep in mind, your “giveaway prize” is much less than thousands of dollars, which is how they make money off of “prize winners”. There is not an item put before you that doesn’t cost 1000+ and if you ask if there are lesser options they will say after you have purchased one required item, you can purchase lesser things. Second, the real issue. My bill seemed higher than I expected, but I paid. I was given the written (by hand) bill in a sealed envelope after paying. It was not till I got home that I saw I had been told the wrong “prize” amount AND there was a math mistake on the bill leading to a higher total. Also, the tax is taken on your amount before discounts (the prize), so tax is higher than expected as well (but this is legal). I reached out thinking this was a simple math mistake and asked them to please correct the bill. I was then told I was wrong, there was no math mistake (when anyone who can do simple math can see there is). When one person makes a math mistake, it is a mistake. When multiple people see it and say there is no mistake, it is a scam. They have since stopped responding to me, and I doubt I will ever receive printed photos - not that I want them anyway anymore. I hope they will give my money back. Update it has now been FOUR MONTHS and I have not received money back or photos. SCAMMERS. Will be resolving this with my credit card company

Fable studios was wonderful. My dog Kelly is a very excitable and friendly dog. They allowed him to wander around freely to get familiar with the studios. Our photographer was patient and understanding. She found a way to get Kelly to sit still and got some lovely photos of him. We even got a photo of him and I together. I would recommend Fable Studios and Chris to everyone. It is definitely worth the drive and money.
