I booked a bridal makeup trial with Judy months in advance after being waitlisted, only to have the appointment cancelled one week before my wedding after she discovered I had not booked full wedding-day coverage with her team.

The cancellation message stated that she felt I had “intentionally tried to deceive” her. However, nowhere in the signed contract or booking terms did it state that trials were exclusive to brides booking full bridal services, or that booking a trial without wedding-day coverage was prohibited.

I completely understand businesses wanting to prioritize full wedding bookings, especially during busy wedding season. But expectations like that should be clearly communicated upfront and included in the contract before accepting a booking and holding a date for months.

To her credit, a full refund was issued promptly. My disappointment is mainly with the timing and handling of the situation, as being cancelled on one week before my wedding left me scrambling to secure another artist at the last minute.
