When do you recommend acoustic vs. electric violin?

If you're looking for a classic "violin" sound in a setting with a low to medium amount of ambient noise, acoustic is the way to go. I use a mic rather than a pickup to preserve as much acoustic detail of my violin as possible. If you're looking for something a bit different and especially in a big room/a lot of noise, electric violin is a creative option!

Do you provide your own PA system?

Yes, I am equipped with all necessary equipment including a full PA system. For large events where a DJ is also present or there's a venue system, it often makes the most sense for me to plug into what's already there

Can you perform outdoors when there is no power?

Yes, I have a high-capacity portable battery to use that can keep everything going for many hours. Much of the performing that I do takes place outdoors!

Do you have samples of your work?

My most up-to-date samples can be always found at liamcalhounviolin.com/mysound

Do you take song requests?

Yes! I'm always looking to expand my repertoire, so as long I feel that the requested song will work well and is possible, I'm happy to learn new music that is specifically tailored to the sound you wish to bring to your event
