You're wondering why to spend $12 on a chocolate bar. This is no ordinary chocolate. I got a sample pack as a holifay gift and I was hooked. The brown butter rum bar is my favourite. It's the perfect companion to a Friday night drink. Just a small peice and let it melt in your mouth.Bravo to SOMA. I would have never thought I'd spend $12 on a chocolate bar, but here we are.
Cute shop, lots of delicious options for a chocolate lover. Very friendly staff. Got a little box of 4 chocolates and loved them all!
Chocolate is good but very expensive- small bars go for over $12. Overall good to enjoy once in a while. The store itself is alright. It is in the distillery district. The milk old school, made of only three ingredients, was really good. You can taste the realness of the chocolate. The slow roasted hazelnut bar was no different from the good quality grocery store bars.
Soma makes excellent world class chocolate, so I wanted to drop by their store while I was in town. Prices are above average vs grocery store chocolate but in line with higher quality brands. Bought 2 of their bars which I haven't previously tried before. Store itself has a decent selection and also other non bar varieties.
Maybe not just my taste. Actually, not my whole family's taste which does not happen very often since my kids and my hubby has a sweet tooth. The only fascinating thing is that you can see them make the chocolate through the glass. But the products were disappointing. We chose few random chocolates to give most of it a try and I had the mayan hot chocolate which was spicy. It was just okay. Had better spicy chocolates. Not as creamy as I've expected and the other chocolates were too sweet. Not creamy too. Disappointed given the price range. If I want dessert, I'll go elsewhere.
