I hosted a corporate event in the private space at Joey Eaton Center for about 60 people. Everything ran very smoothly from initial planning up to the event day thanks to the tremendous help from Hayley Winters and Hailey Neels. John, Nikki and the entire staff onsite the night of the event were also great to work with and were very resourceful and accommodating to our last minute changes/requests.
The event space was very nice, clean and spacious. The food and drinks were also great.
I would definitely consider hosting future events here and would highly recommend Joey Eaton Center to others for any private function.
I hosted my orientation event of around 90 people at Joey's Private Dining space and once again, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! I have worked with this team in the past and they continue to make planning and hosting a large event so effortless and hassle free. Students and staff had a memorable time and we cannot wait to host another celebration with the Joey's team! Special thanks to Hayley Winters and John Frankum and the rest of the great staff!!

My fianc and I attended a city hall wedding a few years back. It was intimate and beautiful. This was when we got the inspiration to do a summer city wedding with only immediate family at city hall followed by a reception with the rest of our family/friends.
The venue: I scoured a few venues online to hold a reception with at least 80 guests. I found Joey Restaurant Eaton Centre online. It was detailed enough to keep my fianc and I interestedmost importantly to stay within our budget (e.g. fees, food, drinks, audio-visual, etc.). Joey Restaurant was the first and only venue we visited personally. It is right in the middle of Dundas Square within a walking distance from Queen Street City Hall. The private event section is spacious enough for our 80 guests + a mini dance floor + cake table + guest book table and a podium. The lighting is dim and romantic. Might be tricky for photography but a pro photographer will have no problem whatsoever. They have TVs everywhere, which we used to play our couple reel on loopjust a collection of our videos as a couple. Also, we used their sound system to play our wedding playlist and provided us with a microphone for the host/speeches.
The Staff: We met with Hailey Neels. She was extremely helpful and accommodating with our requests. She knows her way around event planning and considers your preference very seriously. Right after our food tasting we booked the venue and we couldnt be happier. Most of our correspondence was done through email and she was prompt and detailed with her response. Hailey also offers her services for day-of set-up as I DIYed and brought my own dcor/wedding paraphernalia. She also worked above and beyond to accommodate my request for a head table so everyone can see us (as newlyweds) and deal with last minute cancellations/add-ons to our banquet order.
We also met John, our day of coordinator. Very pleasant man and even assisted us with our first dance music.
The food: We did a tasting (which was generous enough that we left with to-go boxes). It was delicious. The chef was also there and talked about the food, which made us feel really special. The only thing we didnt get to taste were the hor douvres because it was a last minute decision we added. They were good as per my guest (we ordered some flatbread, spring rolls and meatballs).
I loved the fact that I didnt have to know in advance any allergies or meat/veggie preference as they accommodate guest requests on the day!! (Except for serious allergies it is worth mentioning, as you do not want to give your guest an epi-pen situation *wink). We ordered a cake as well, the taste was good, but the colour was a little off from what I wanted. It wanted a dusty blue cake (we got a bright baby blue instead). In all fairness though, it was a difficult colour to execute as a wedding theme. I learned this the hard way when dress shopping for my family and when I needed to get ribbons and print out invitations etc.
The drinks: They have a good and wide selection of wine/cocktails. We brought in our own wine (with corkage) instead as I wanted to personalize my labels. They do not offer an open bar. We did opt for wine with dinner plus 2 drink tickets per guest that include beer, spirits and cocktail.
The experience: My fianc and I had lots of fun. The whole event was exactly what I envisionednothing too formal, a few speeches here and there, and a whole lot of mingling. Our host and usherettes were my friends. They said it went well with coordinating with the staff as they waited for the rest of the party to arrive. Overall, we are glad we chose Joey restaurant as our venue. Our guests kept saying they really enjoyed their night and loved the location. If we ever have to host an event again, we would not hesitate to choose Joey Restaurant over again.

I hosted a 33 people for a Business Dinner at Joeys Private Dining venue downstairs. What a treat!! The venue has a great vibe to it. When we arrived we had appetizers and mingling around cocktail tables alongside a great looking bar. John the Manager was on top of everything. The servers were so nice and looked very professional. Once everyone sat down for dinner they were prompt in taking everyones orders and dinner serves went smoothly. The serves brought the entire tables orders out in unison. I cant say enough about this dinner, from the salad, entres and the dessert OUTSTANDING is the only word that comes to mind. Thank you for a great evening
When we booked our post wedding luncheon celebration event right from the beginning we knew we were communicating with classy and dedicated professionals. All the details for the event were covered with us prior to the event. All our guests enjoyed the food and ambience. As well the quality of food prepared was great and it was very nice that the chef came out to meet us at the event. We will for sure consider this venue again next time we have a large party outing in downtown Toronto.
