This was by far the worst experience I’ve had trying to book a venue for my employee dinner in December. Positano was happy to take my business!!

It’s disappointing to see what’s happening with events at La Vecchia this year. After hosting multiple events there over the past few years, the experience has changed dramatically. The new events manager Diana is extremely difficult to work with, communication is frustrating, and the overall process makes you feel like your business isn’t valued.

My sisters bridal shower that i was planning for October had to be booked San Vito instead because the experience became so difficult. It’s unfortunate, especially considering the excellent experiences in previous years. Returning customers should be made to feel appreciated, not like they’re an inconvenience.

Hopefully management takes a closer look at the customer experience because it’s clearly not what it used to be.

I recently hosted a quarterly team lunch at La Vecchia and, unfortunately, it was one of the worst restaurant service experiences I've had.

My son, who is also a new member of our team, joined us for the lunch. He is autistic and follows a strict gluten- and dairy-free diet. We didn't just mention these dietary restrictions at the restaurant, we emailed them to the restaurant in advance and then reminded our server not once, not twice, but three separate times during the lunch. Despite all of that, a salad arrived with cheese on it.

When I pointed out the mistake, instead of apologizing, the server became defensive. He repeatedly pointed to his order sheet and insisted the order had been entered correctly, saying he wasn't the one who brought the dish to the table.

The replacement salad then arrived with goat cheese. When we questioned it, the server confidently told us that goat cheese is not dairy. That is completely incorrect. Goat cheese is a dairy product made from goat's milk and is not suitable for someone avoiding dairy.

What was most alarming was the complete lack of accountability. At no point did the server take responsibility for the mistake or show any concern that he was repeatedly serving food that did not meet clearly communicated dietary requirements. Had I not been there to advocate for my son and question what was being put in front of him, he likely would not have had a meal he could safely eat. That is unacceptable.

The issues continued when it came to dessert. Dessert was included in the package we had booked, yet the staff appeared unaware of this and asked to see our contract. We pulled up the booking details ourselves and confirmed that dessert was included.

For such a beautiful restaurant, the service was shockingly poor. There was no apology, no effort to make things right, and no interest in hearing feedback. When the bill came, nobody asked how the meal was or acknowledged the issues we had experienced. In fact, it felt like management and staff were actively avoiding the conversation.

I've been organizing team lunches and business gatherings for many years, and this was easily the worst service experience I've ever had. Mistakes happen. What is far more concerning is when a restaurant is given dietary information in advance, reminded multiple times in person, still gets it wrong repeatedly, and then refuses to take responsibility. The food may be good, but the service and accountability were simply unacceptable.

The whole team at La Vecchia is amazing. We dealt with Salvatore, many waitress and I can truly say they are all amazing.
We recently hosted two birthday parties at La Vecchia Lakeshore (first one in February for my mother's 90 Birthday, and the second one in May for my husband's 70th Birthday), and working with Diana Smith as the event coordinator made both occasions absolutely wonderful from start to finish. She was organized, professional, attentive, and incredibly easy to work with throughout the entire planning process. What amazed me was he promptness in every communication we had either by phone or email.
I had to deal with Roberta in January so I can tell the difference of a great customer service (Roberta was so hard to reach and she never answered her phone or email).
Diana paid attention to every detail, made sure everything ran smoothly, and always responded quickly and kindly to any questions or requests we had. On the day of the events, she went above and beyond to ensure our guests felt welcomed and that everything was perfectly coordinated. Her calm and positive attitude made the experience stress-free and enjoyable for our whole family.
The parties turned out beautifully thanks to her dedication and care. We received so many compliments from our guests about the atmosphere, service, and overall experience. We are truly grateful to Diana for helping create such special memories and would highly recommend her to anyone planning an event.

Went to an event here this past weekend and was really excited because I’ve heard such good things. The food was great, the space looked beautiful, and the servers were honestly amazing. The only thing that felt a bit off was a woman the host mentioned was the event manager , she was around the whole time but didn’t really check in with anyone. She seemed a bit stressed, and it was awkward. It gave a different feel compared to everything else going on.
