Great food. Had really good service. Waiter was prompt and attentive in a non obtrusive manner. Would definitely go back. Excellent shareable crab dip. What I enjoyed most about the dip was that it was not too salty like most other dips.
Prior to coming, my friends had given me some very positive reviews for this place, so I had high expectations for the all you can eat brunch at Spencers, and it certainly did not disappoint. But I would have given it 4.5 stars as there were just a few things that could be better. I loved: 1) The ambience and the view - if you love this place, you are here for the entire experience thats more than the food itself. We got a seat in the patio and the view was amazing even on a cloudy day. It was a bit chilly with the breeze and they switched on the space heaters for us. Picturesque location for both taking photos of people and food 2) Shrimps and oysters - have to say the oysters were very fresh for an all you can eat brunch. Only downside is the poor waiter/waitress shucking the oysters, when the line is long they cant seem to keep up. (Might be a tactic to make you take fewer oysters at a time? ) 3) Desserts/Pastry - honestly this is probably the best made food here. Cant complain about the impressive spread of dessert choices, and all their pastries are very well made. Bonus points to a dark chocolate fondue fountain 4) Alcoholic drinks included in price - was pleasantly surprised drinks like mimosa and Caesar are all included, as well as really good espresso 5) Friendly service - our waiter was friendly and attentive and checked in multiple times. He was very busy though so sometimes took a bit to clear the plates but no big deal. Not sure how come the service varies so much between reviews. Lacklustre:1) Snow crab was disappointing - clearly had been frozen, watery and too salty. Was expecting better quality food given the price point ($220+ for 3 people). 2) Saw a fly (or flies) around and on the cheese board - I just avoided eating that spread... not sure if they could have swatted them away effectively Overall would recommend coming here for an special occasion to enjoy the view and experience!
Just came back from a very expensive and mediocre dining experience at Spencer's. Food order was taken promptly - yet delivered 1.5 hours later. Two small children in our party were served over cooked chicken fingers and fries, 1 full hour ahead of the adult dinners. Waiters acknowledged the lengthy wait, and as a way to mitigate the situation, brought our party complimentary appetizers. Nice gesture, however, we were already full with the appetizers we initially ordered, which in turn dulled the appetite for the actual entrees. Service was very disorganized. The pasta entree was comparable to what one could find at East Side Mario's for half the price. Steak - under seasoned. Fish entree - plated well, small portion. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Came to Spencer's to celebrate my mum's birthday as well as a belated birthday for my sister and I. Wow, amazing food all around. We got a seat outdoors and the weather and view were both perfect. Our server was Joey and she really did her best to make sure that food restrictions in our party did not get in the way of enjoying a beautiful meal. Joey worked with us to figure out what the best adjustments would be, even doing a little extra for my sister's birthday desert since the standard birthday desert doesn't fit into her dietary restrictions. Terrific night, exceptional Server, wonderful food.
Let's Taste !
Loved the view! It was perfect spot for a romantic date. We got table on porch with amazing view, cant ask for more. Service was outstanding too. Sea food was great, only drawback was options for vegetarian. Didnt enjoy my food much, was uncooked but they replaced it with pizza so cant complain. Overall amazing experience.
