From switching over to energy-efficient equipment and lighting to supporting charitable waste diversion programs, this facility just might be the aesthetically-pleasing guilt-free venue you are looking for!
From supporting farmer’s markets to cultivating Toronto’s art culture, Artscape Wychwood Barns is a step in the right direction for eco-friendly venues! After all, they are one of the first designated heritage sites in Canada to receive a LEED Gold Canada Certification. So, enjoy 7, 680 square feet of geothermal heated, storm water-harvested, and energy-efficient lighted space when you’re hosting an initiate affair here, to say the least.
Located on the third floor of the Thornton-Smith Building, the Aperture Room is one of the many popular heritage wedding places located in downtown Toronto for events. Originally built in 1922, this industrial-chic venue has gone through many up-to-date renovations over the years, which include eco-friendly installations. Its green practices today are energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly LED lighting and built-in AV equipment.
Although Kortright Eventspace loves hosting intimate affairs and special events, they primarily operate as an educational program facility and workshop for sustainable practices and technology. They have over 50 educational programs, 30 different sustainable technology workshops, and multiple on-site nature and species preservation centers on-site! Toronto Botanical Garden‘s green team initiative has completely transformed their venue’s sustainability practices over the years. They’ve made sure to reduce their ecological footprint tenfold through emphasizing proper waste stations, energy conservation lights, and electronic event registrations. They’ve also strongly encourage event participants to bring their own water-bottles or ceramic mugs, and only including caterers serving local seasonal foods. Sustainability isn’t a joke over at Toronto Botanical Gardens!
