Antonella and Francesco are married! If forever begins with magic, this spectacular Toronto wedding was one magical night!
Celebrated at The Venetian, we thank Erika from Ten2Ten Photography for sending us this opulent and elegant wedding! From the lush florals, sparkling details, super stylish shoes, emotional and pure love….yes dreams do come true!
We read a lot of articles in the wedding industry: trends, catering, decor… dresses! Really anything that takes our fancy. So we wanted to take a moment to share the best wedding articles we came across in August. There’s no concrete standard for our choice except our undying love and affection for the authors and the work they do. I hope you feel the same!
Azure Nelson over at OneWed put together this great collection of save the date examples and it’s been getting a lot of love from her readers. I’m glad Azure had the spirit to go out and grab all these great ideas and share them with the world, you should check them out too! My favourite is the card which, when you open it, ties a knot in the string on the inside. Simple but perfect.
Karen Daly shared an excellent bridal collection by Olwen Bourke, filled with inspiring fashions for brides and the wedding party. Of course, seeing as how the dresses are custom made out of Olwen’s studios in London, England, Toronto brides may find getting their hands on one of these dresses a bit tricky but that’s also what world wide shipping was created for, right?
Kat’s collection of coloured wedding dresses makes me happy, both because there’s only so many shades of white I can take and because they somehow managed to get real women in the dresses! Having spent too much time looking through these, I narrowed my favourites down to 22 and 23, but I’ll let you choose for yourself.
Erin and Chris got married in Vegas and I really hope that the couple milks the “This weekend? I got married in Vegas” to death. Jillian, Amanda, and Kristina document the wedding and all of the wonderful accoutrements that come with a Vegas country club wedding in this article that hit the top of the charts in August.
I’m pretty sure Amanda over at Ruffled has the greatest job in the world, following weddings like Maria and Riley’s peach and gold reception. The photos and decor of this wedding in southern Florida make me feel like I’m in a disney fairy tale. With a lot of pink!
Monday morning: a gorgeous invitation was delivered to the office asking us to join Candice and Alison, the duo behind some of Toronto’s most elaborate events, to celebrate their 5 year anniversary. 3 seconds later: We RSVP’ed with an enthusiastic “yes!” After all, it’s not every day that we get to attend an event produced by a company named as one of North America’s most innovative event designers.
Candice and Alison chose one of Toronto’s most sought after event spaces, Malaparte – Oliver & Bonacini (at the TIFF Bell Lightbox) to showcase each partners unique creative talents. The event theme was Candice vs. Alison which allowed each designer creative freedom to bring to life a space inspired by their own imagination.
Dressed up in our finest, we rode the elevator up to the event space. As the elevator doors opened, we were welcomed by Candice and Alison and were then ushered into a breathtaking lush garden setting designed by Alison. Featuring luxurious white lounge furniture, a showstopping cake and a lush floral wall, we had to pinch ourselves to make sure we weren’t dreaming. To cap it off, in the midst of this jaw dropping setting, we were greeted with champagne cocktails and invited to delight in the delicious food prepared by Oliver & Bonacini.
We go to and see a lot of events so trust us when we say this was an event no one will ever forget. Congratulations Candice and Alison! Cheers to many years of continued success!
