I am usually called on to officiate at formal Jewish and interfaith wedding ceremonies and am always pleased to be able to celebrate and share this major life event and unite two souls in holy matrimony. I offer a full spectrum of wedding services and am pleased to conduct outdoor or smaller ceremonies. I am happy to be able to assist with exploring what will meet your needs as the wedding couple and your families. I'm happy to perform ceremonies outdoors on location. Whatever the life event may be, I will guide you through it. I create a service for you both designed to give you the wedding you've always dreamed of. It will honor your roots and marry ancient traditions with modern-day practices that demonstrate your outlook and beliefs.
Together, we tailor a ceremony that reflects your values, your heritage, and your unique spiritual outlook, and truly expresses the loving personal bond you share with your partner. You may wish to draw from ancient cultures and philosophers, or the rich tradition of verses on love by poets such as Kahil Gibran and Shel Silverstein. You may wish to write your own vows—or all of the above. My customized and thorough approach is designed to assure you and your guests a memorable, meaningful wedding that lives up to your dreams.
Weddings can be performed in any location and venue in Ontario—my home base is in the GTA. I also conduct destination weddings and ceremonies in some areas of the US. Please enquire.
As a special gift to you, and if you’re interested when you book your ceremony, we are very pleased to include up to a 90-minute counseling consultation for wedding couples. This will focus on how to improve lines of communication to enhance your relationship (now and in the future/after you’re married!)—and help to smooth the way for happy interactions with your families. This is a little gift we like to offer—should you be interested!
And as a memento of your wedding, I provide a beautifully bound and decorated copy of the text of your ceremony to cherish. "Love one another, but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls." -Kahil Gibran (I also provide other important services for you and your family including baby namings and Memorial and Funeral Services.)

We’re so glad we chose Rabbi Gellman to officiate our wedding. From beginning to end he was warm and welcoming, spending lots of time getting to know us. Rabbi Gellman truly made our ceremony unique and special, adding in personalized stories we had told him over the phone, in video calls, and from his questionnaire leading up to our wedding. We got tons of compliments from guests saying how wonderful Rabbi Gellman was. Highly recommend for a beautiful, personalized, fun, inclusive ceremony!

Rabbi David has performed two services for our family in the past 5 years. One for our son in 2014 and just recently for my daughter: In both cases my friends and family were still talking about how beautiful and meaningful the services were months after the wedding. Rabbi does an incredible service - personalizing it and adding meaning and depth to each nuptial. His easy style, clear voice and beautiful words carry the day!

Rabbi David Gelman put together and coordinated a personalized ceremony for our children's wedding. I have known the rabbi for some 15 years and he exceeded our already high expectations. His experience and sensitivity to everyone's needs was immediately evident and he made the process easy and uncomplicated. The ceremony was accessible to all, no matter their level of observance or familiarity with a Jewish wedding. It was a beautiful day and most important, it was FUN!

Rabbi David Gellman put together a wonderful, special, unique, personalized ceremony for my husband and I. He made space to incorporate all of the elements and people we wanted, and had no problem leaving out the components we didn't want included. Working with him ahead of time was easy and straightforward; he sent out questionnaires that helped us form our ideas and allowed him to get to know the type of ceremony we wanted. Our wedding was interfaith and this was no problem for Rabbi David; he made it as Jewish as we wanted and was sure to explain the customs so everyone could understand. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and I will cherish it always.
