This summer, Steam Whistle Brewery and the Toronto Wedding Collective ran an In Service of Love contest where couples who work in hospitality could enter for a chance to win their dream wedding valued at $60K. The winners of the contest were Arnell, a hospitality worker, and his fiancée, Youn Sun, who made it official at a gorgeous wedding at Steam Whistle. The couple met at a Toronto language exchange event where they learned they shared a lot of common interests and experiences, including having lived in Lyon, France. Last summer, the couple returned to France for a vacation where Arnell proposed. The new chapter of their love story was planned by the creative Gina Humilde Events and captured by the talented Luminous Weddings. You’ll definitely want to check out this gallery!
The couple’s photo session is a stunning mix of moody glam and loveable whimsy.
The couple said “I do” in a jaw-dropping ceremony highlighted by bright lush florals from Rosehill Blooms and beautiful seating courtesy of Event Rental Group. Guests at the ceremony were seated within their household bubbles and there was six-foot distance between people in different bubbles.
The reception was a fun and fantastical night that perfectly showcased the couple’s cosmic connection. In sticking with COVID-19 protocols, safety measures were put in place for the beautiful evening. There were 50 guests for the ceremony and 12 for an outdoor, tented dinner, which included the bride and groom. Everyone wore masks, there were even 50 masks onsite that were custom made by Make More TO in case anyone forgot theirs.
Sentinel Security Plus did a pre-screening survey 48 hours before the wedding, and guests received a QR code that they used to check in with Sentinel upon arrival and did contactless temperature checks onsite.
The cheery stationery and signage from A Good Day, Inc. greeted guests who were treated to a night of bright colours and positive energy that was evident from the classy black chairs and velvet couch from Divine Furniture Rentals to the bold and dreamy draping, tableware and tenting from Event Rental Group. EPiQVision was on hand to provide A/V services such as live streaming for those who couldn’t attend, including Youn Sun’s family who were able to join from South Korea!
Guests were treated to a delectable cake from Finespun Cakes & Pastries.
The delicious food and catering was courtesy of Food Dudes, who also whipped up takeaway boxes for guests.
Guests didn’t go home empty handed thanks to the incredible swag bags put together by Food Dudes and Steam Whistle – it was definitely a night to remember!
