Hi, I hosted a baby shower at the Guild on January 28, 2018 for my daughter-in-law. Initially I too had some issues getting information as the person I was dealing with took some time off but once I got a hold of Shelly, everything went very smoothly. They were very organized offering many services. Shelly listened to our needs and everything went as planned. We meet with Jennifer who was our coordinator. She went through every aspect of our shower, food, set up, timing, tables, music, etc. She made detailed notes and confirmed everything in writing. Everything went smoothly. The set up was beautiful and the food was amazing. I felt all the staff were very attentive to our needs. We are lucky to have such a beautiful venue in our community. Thank you Shelly, Jennifer, Abdul and Elizabeth and all the staff at the Guild that help make this beautiful event so successful and joyous!! Highly recommend the professional attention and listening ears from Shelly!!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful wedding at the Guild Inn Estate. It was a beautiful winter wedding with many compliments from my guests in relation to the beautiful venue/grounds, the organization of the evening (planners, servers, sound/lighting technicians, etc), and lastly the food portions and quality, which were absolutely amazing. We enjoyed amazing flavours and portions for our antipasto bar, pasta, cornished hen main and dessert! A big thanks to Chantal for helping us with our booking pre-construction, and to Francesca our planner who was always available for us when we needed her, which is so important. Well Done to the Guild Inn Estate!

I was so close to booking this venue for my wedding reception however the lack of communication and service was too much and I had to cancel. I cannot understand how a venue does not return phone calls when you have left a voicemail. I finally got a call back a week and a half later. This is not the first time i've heard about communication issues with this place. My deposit was ready and my fiance and I were to meet with the coordinator to finalize everything but we feared this is how things would be leading up to the wedding. Either they are understaffed or inexperienced to handle these events and we could not risk it. I completely understand why this place is getting such low reviews and I experienced it first hand. It's quite unfortunate, hopefully they turn things around.

Working here for just over 3 months, Ive witnessed dozens of happy clients and their events and look forward to the long thank you emails we receive from clients each week expressing their appreciation that their event was handled so delicately and professionally. I think is it SO important to stay transparent on these review sites, but unfortunately the world isnt just and fair, especially with the internet used more and more as a tool to gouge competitors these days... My suggestion to anyone is to take all these reviews with a grain of salt (the good, the bad) and take 1 hour of your week to book and visit the venue and meet the staff first hand to form your own opinion. There are SO MANY variables and elements to every event that may not be in the control of the venue as a third party service provider that they tend to get burned for with no way to express the circumstances that lead to it. If you plan to rely on reviews, I suggest to look at how active the account is did they do only one or two reviews? Did they provide any photos to back their experience? Be mindful of the tone, if someone is super angry, there may be more to a story than expressed, and there is no harm in being upfront and direct by mentioning the negative review to the venue rep. If you are dealing with a reliable and accountable venue, their entire team will be aware of the negative reviews they recently received and can explain the situation for you to make your own judgement. Those are my two cents working in this industry for more than 7 years now you just have to feel it out for yourself.
