I visited Lavelle for the first time last month and had such a great experience that Ive since returned on a few more occasions. Each visit has been outstanding! The staff has been consistently welcoming and friendly and I cannot say enough about the high level of customer service Ive received from Scully, Caroline, Chiara and Courtney. The rooftop pools are fabulous for a staycation and offer amazing views of the city. I highly recommend Lavelle!UPDATE! I returned to celebrate my birthday this weekend... Marsha, one of the managers, went out of her way to ensure my guests and I had an OUTSTANDING time. Thanks Marsha!
Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Service was really good. The waiters were very friendly. The food was very tasty, we ordered the panca chicken & wagyu burger. Both were very delicious. The view was also beautiful, you can see the CN tower. Their manager, Nelson also approached us & offered to take photos. Overall, great experience. Will def come back with our friends
Good:- Environment was excellent: high ceiling, filled with natural light on a sunny day, comfortable seating. As seen on Instagram!Bad:- Service: Not impressed. As we just sat down we realized the table was not our booked. So we asked our waiter if he could find the right table for us. He said you take too many shopping bags, that is the reason you can not sit where you booked. We felt so said, cause the the booked table is the reason why we were here, our original plan was taking pics and celebrating my friend's 18 years old's birthday. Also, when I was asking to charge my cell phone. Our waiter said it will cost 10 dollars per half hour to charge your cell phone. I felt very disappointment to spent 1 hour to drive here and experience the service. This is the first time and last time I came this restaurant. However, I was trying hard to comfort my friend, cause she only has one 18 year's old birthday in her entire life.
I was really excited to come here with my friends for the first time and can honestly say I was also really excited to leave! They say one of a kind in their description, if they are referring to the awful service and management then yes, it most certainly is one of a kind. As I had a party of 6, the seating reservation (as stated on their website) is for 3 hours which is what I booked for. When I arrived, I had to wait in a line for COVID checks and what not, which is totally fine with the current circumstances, however, it took 40 minutes past the start of my reservation to be seated. Upon being seated, I noticed they took a half hour away from my reservation, so now not only did I miss the first 40 minutes of my 3 hour slot, but also an additional 30 minutes, making my total time there 1h and 50 mins. When I brought this up, the individual I spoke to said nothing could be done, and reservations change all the time. WHAT IS THE POINT OF MAKING A RESERVATION THEN?! On top of it, many drinks my group and I wanted to order were unavailable. When we decided to leave early and go to another patio, an 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill and of course our server DID NOT let us know. Often this is a practice for groups of 6 or more so it was something I looked out for - however, tips are earned and not deserved. I am someone who 90% of the time tips 20% or more, but this was most certainly not deserved. The only good thing there was the view. I can honestly say this was my first and last experience at Lavelle.
I would like to share my experience I had at Lavelle on Tuesday. My friend and I went in the evening and overall had an amazing time. It was our first time experiencing the atmosphere and the venue. In my opinion, I respected that they took serious measures in handling the pandemic situation by making customers do a survey and checking our temperatures before going into the restaurant. The security guard greeted us kindly and the host explained the rules and the pamphlet regarding the menu and our departure time. The restaurant felt very clean and sanitary. The view is like no other. Our server was okay but, her face expressions were mainly a stress type of look which we did not find too friendly for a server. On the Other hand, one of the employees named Nathaniel delivered quality customer service. He was very polite and brought our food to us. His multi-tasking was phenomenal and always checking on his customers regularly while making sure the restaurant is being sanitized constantly. I wrote this to mainly applaud him and all his efforts I wish I could say the same for our server but definitely will be coming back.
