What a beautiful and truly inspiring Sunday morning it was! ❤️Namma Veeddu Kalyanam (Our Home Wedding/Our Community's Own Wedding)!! A wedding that felt just like a Thiruvilla (Temple's annual festival)!!! And a wedding that was truly celebrated right Infront of the Gods (Kula Theivams) at the Ottawa Sivan Temple, unlike those rushed weddings in Toronto banquet halls that feel more like artificial events at places like Scarborough/Markham Convention Centres in Toronto.❤️✨ (At Toronto banquet halls, we often feel like we’re treated as just numbers. Little care or personal attention is given to the fact that these are once-in-a-lifetime events for us that deserve to be celebrated with genuine care and thoughtfulness, but not for them, it was like another profit oriented numbers).
Under a gloomy yet beautifully serene sky, beginning at 9:00 AM on the grounds of the Ottawa Sivan Temple, we witnessed one of the most memorable and heartwarming weddings of our Ottawa Tamil Community.
It was especially emotional to see a daughter of our Ottawa Tamil Community, get married in front of so many community members who have watched her grow from childhood into the wonderful woman she is today. The joy, pride, love, and emotions felt by everyone were simply indescribable. ❤️
You may have felt as though you were living in a movie, but for all of us who witnessed it, it was real — beautiful, joyful, and deeply touching. We were so happy to be part of your special day and to celebrate this beautiful beginning with you.
Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime filled with love, happiness, blessings, and togetherness. 💕🌸
Please don't spend enormous money and have your ceremonies at these artificial banquet halls. Instead , plan yourself and choose your temple grounds, instead.

If something comes up and you have to cancel your wedding at this venue, get ready to lose all your money. No empathy and no ethics. If you're signing a contract with these swindlers, make sure you take a lawyer with you to vet the contract. They hiked up the prices during the pandemic for a fraction of the guests on the contract we signed and didn't give a refund when we refused. They flat out stole our deposit money. These people will just take your money and laugh all the way to the bank. Deflect, deny, save face publicly, and swindle, that seems to be SCC's internal moto.

I’ve been to several events at this hall. It really is a beautiful venue. The only criticism I have is that sometimes the in-house sound system doesn’t sound too great. I would recommend this Hall for any party, but I would recommend bringing your own sound gear. Or use a rental service like gtaspeakerrentals.ca

I had my engagement reception with around 120 people at the Scarborough Convention Centre in July 2019. Sanj and Thifya were amazing to work with. They made sure everything was executed smoothly and on time before and throughout the event. Everything from the video presentation to the dry ice to the decor turned out really well. The seating arrangements were setup to allow the groomsmen and bridesmaids to perform as we requested. The feedback from guests were positive regarding the amazing food. We had specific requirements around food allergies and halal for guests and Sanj took care of it with ease. Thifya was very kind and patient with my inquiries. I would definitely recommend Scarborough Convention Centre with Sanj and Thifya.

We had our wedding and reception at Scarborough Convention Centre beginning of February (Feb 3 and Feb 9). Varnan and his team were so great to work with! I constantly called, texted and visited Varnan in office to make various changes throughout the months leading up to our wedding and he was very accommodating and did not once come off as being annoyed with our constant changes. He even made suggestions from his past experience (he knows what hes doing, so take his advice!) on how to make certain things flow better. Overall - I am more than satisfied with the service that we received at our wedding. All of our family/friends loved the food and commented that it tasted really good, which isn't always the case when you're cooking for such a large number, but SCC definitely made sure the quality was not compromised. Varnan also helped to ensure as the bride I got exactly what I wanted. He made us feel like he really cared to ensure we had a great wedding. He didn't just do his job, he went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. They also had the team on site on the day of both events (wedding & reception) to ensure everything flowed smoothly. Overall it was his kind and accommodating attitude that really made my husband and I happy to have gone with this venue. This is the second year that we successfully celebrated our annual event at Scarborough Convention (SCC). This year was no exception, Seniors in Action Festive Holiday Celebration was again a huge success with over 300 guests in awe as they arrived at Scarborough Convention Centre. Truly, there is no other place for an evening of fun, delicious food and ballroom dancing than the spacious and elegantly designed rooms at SCC. The service was excellent from all levels with friendly and hard-working staff/servers throughout the evening. Thank you for making our event another evening to remember. Keep it up!
