The issues we faced went far beyond minor planning hiccups. We experienced a concerning lack of transparency, hidden costs, repeated invoice errors, conflicting information, poor communication, and general disorganization from start to finish. Every clarification seemed to uncover a new cost or a missed detail, and it always took forever to get a response, leading to me having to follow up over and over while trying to plan a whole wedding.
We never received the hors d’oeuvres plate we were promised for cocktail hour, and only saw two of the several appetizers we’d selected. After the wedding, we were told there were no leftovers despite seeing a very good amount of our wedding cake, remaining desserts, and other food while they were packing each of the tables up. We requested ALL leftovers to be sent home with us (again for $17,000 weeks should have takeout boxes). Instead just two small containers was left the next day in the bar fridge, one of which was entirely fruit. We reached out and were told that this was their “standard.” Our cake topper also went missing.
We sent a detailed complaint on June 19, which was acknowledged and met with a promise to respond by the end of that week. We were actually quite happy with the response. But then we never heard back. Despite three follow-ups, we’ve now been completely ignored for over five weeks. That silence after such a frustrating experience, has only added to our disappointment, and reinforced the feeling we’ve had this entire experience.
I’ve seen all the great reviews on Google, and frankly, I’m shocked. Based on our experience, I feel like I’m reading about the wrong company. If we simply had a one-off bad experience, it shouldn’t be this hard to work with us privately, especially when we went out of our way to be respectful and constructive. We didn’t rush to post this review because we genuinely hoped they’d work with us to find a solution. They didn’t.
A lot of our friends are getting married, and they know about our experience. But it’s honestly scary to think that others might see all the five-star reviews, trust this vendor with $17,000 like we did, and end up going through the same thing.
The food and day-of staff were the only highlights. But this was by far our most expensive vendor — and the only one we regret. We cannot recommend Seventh Heaven. It’s just not worth the risk.
