I consigned my wedding dress with the Company Feather and Pearl Bridal Boutique (also known as Second Dance) in St. Catharines with owner Jennifer Newman (also known as Jennifer Lynn Renette). I consigned my dress on January 18th, 2023 in store. My contract expired with them on June 18th, 2023. Since then I was notified that the store front has shut down. We were advised via mass email that all consignors would be contacted to ship their dress back to them. I have emailed too many times to count only to keep receiving excuses and different reasons as to why I could not pick up my dress. It makes me very frustrated and upset how someone could be so unprofessional with NOT returning someone else's property, also known as THEFT. It is her responsibility and due diligence to return my wedding dress (the exact same Martina Liana Wedding Dress in the exact same condition as I dropped it off - cleaned and boxed) as it is my property and not hers. I have contacted Hamilton and Niagara Police but nothing can be done as it is a "civil matter - not legal".
If anyone has gone through anything similar with this company or knows how to approach this for next steps, I would greatly appreciate this. As for you Jennifer, I did tag you in this post. I feel that I need to now go public with this issue as you have refused to get back to me with a simple location, date and time for me to pick up my wedding dress. I am not the only one "left up in the air". You have not only affected me as a consignor, but other consignors and future brides. We all TRUSTED in you but that trust has now been broken. All I want is my exact wedding dress in the exact same condition I consigned it with you for.
