Built in 1871 and nestled in the heart of Toronto, the Berkeley Church maintains its heritage with stunning original architecture while offering an exciting backdrop for a modern event. With state-of-the-art acoustics and a space designed to host guests in the hundreds, the Berkeley Church is an industry staple. The Berkeley Fieldhouse is a unique and versatile space with 16-foot ceilings and a loft-style, contemporary look. It combines an airy indoor space and a whimsical, urban outdoor area adorned with a two-storey tree house beside our private wild flower garden and creek.

The Team at Berkeley is beyond incredible and the venue is truly one of a kind. I've hosted a number of events at The Berkeley Church and I am always impressed by how supportive, helpful and accommodating the staff are. I highly recommend this venue for your future events as it is stunning and versatile. Special thank you to Julie, Ashley and Karina!

I just had my wedding in August of 2017 at Berkeley Church. I will say that this is a beautiful venue, but the staff/owners are lucky its so charming. From our first visit with Tom who barely showed us the full venue during the tour (there were areas that later our caterer showed us that Tom hadnt taken us through) all the way to our venue coordinator Kathy (also hard to get a hold of), losing a vendors easel that we needed to return, this was overall a dysfunctional place to have an event or wedding.First of all, this venue does state that it has an exclusive caterer that must be used. They told us they were willing to allow us to bring in our own caterer but for a Landmark Fee. We said no problem. It was very tough to coordinate with Tom as he seemed to be out of the office quite often and we seemed to be nickel and dimed throughout the entire process (Im sure its because we werent using their caterer even though we still paid an arm and a leg for the venue and extra fee).Fast forward to the day of the wedding, their staff had agreed to help set up tables on 1 floor while the caterer would look after the other level. Caterer showed up to find that nothing had been done. The worst part about this venue? COCKROACHES. My caterer later told me that during the wedding they witnessed a cockroach fall out of a cupboard in the kitchen (luckily our food was cooked offsite and stored in a separate area). To top it all off, a Berkeley staff member told my caterer to not leave purses or valuables lying around close to the back door as sometimes hookers and homeless people will wander in and steal wallets. How are you still operational?!?! A staff member also scribbled out a drink menu option on one of our signs that we were meant to keep as a memento of the night from our calligrapher. Its now ruined and unusable. To top it all off, our venue coordinator lost an easel that we need to return to our calligrapher. It was supposedly on her desk. It sounds like even the staff steal from each other. Whatever you do DO NOT BOOK HERE. Totally unprofessional and an awful experience.

From our first visit with Tom who barely showed us the full venue during the tour (there were areas that later our caterer showed us that Tom hadn’t taken us through) all the way to our venue coordinator Kathy, losing a vendor’s easel that we needed to return, this was overall a dysfunctional place to have an event or wedding.

Cool venue. Needs a little updating and washroom is in basement. Side patio is nice. Hot in warmer months.

Two amazing venues in one with two completely different atmospheres. We love the grandness of the Church and the Urban Outdoors feel of the field house. We have been part of many events at both as well as a magazine feature with Wedluxe.

The Field House and the Tented Patio come together to create a great venue space for a client looking to hold a tented event in the GTA. Clients of The Berkeley Church have rented our dressed up frame tents on the patio to create that "white wedding look".
