A beautiful spot to spend a few hours with nature. You can also walk for ten minutes across the street to do a beautiful (and free) hike right next to the gardens. Be sure to check their hours and days of operations since they close during the winter. The hike is still open though.
It is December so I understand the outside is nothing special. I'm a bit surprised though with some of the hazards that are out there. Cords all over the grass where people walk. Some of the string lights are dangerously close to pathways where kids can stomp on them. Walking around inside was a bit disappointing for me. I understand that there are a lot of volunteers but with the name Royal, and the $$$ the government provides +++, I expected a cleaner, tidier, and more alive greenhouse. Plants are dead (many of them), the "garden" parts are messy and just dead..... I rather see empty spaces between plants than dead ones. Just disappointing for $18.00 a person..... It was my first time and will give it a try one more time in the summer but I hope it will be cleaner and look like a ROYAL Botanical Garden.
This is a really great place to visit if you enjoy nature. It s absolutely beautiful, the rock garden is my favourite. Make sure you visit all the parks!
A lovely local attraction to visit for taking walks through their garden. The centre itself is great for events, and the grounds have multiple paths featuring flowers, trees, stone steps, and a pond. Not a very large place either so it's great for a short walk if you aren't feeling up to a long journey.
I am never tired of visiting the place, always something new to discover. Amazing plants, landscaping, nice shops, cafes. One of the best places to visit if you love nature. You should come early, because half day is never enough, at least for me. I've bought membership and glad that I did. You can bring your dogs if you keep them leashed. I wish they had more sales for live plants though, let's say with native or unique and non invasive plants. Instead they only have plant sale couple of times a year
