Great place! I used to visit all the time as a kid - I'm 20 years old now and figured I'd head back. It's still a great place! Admission is pretty cheap, especially for students. I spent 3.5 hours here, easily, and didn't even see everything. I missed a whole floor because the place was closing and I had to get out of there. Ultimately I'd say this is an enjoyable place for everyone; kids will love all of the activities and interactive stuff, and adults will probably walk out with some new knowledge.

Facilities haven't changed in 30+ years so most of the place is quite dated but well taken care of and staff are friendly. I wouldn't recommend eating in the restaurant on the 6th floor. I purchased a burger for my toddler well done and it was pink inside. I brought it back and waited 10 minutes for an employee to show up behind the counter but a cashier helped track someone down. It was around 1pm. Then another 10 minutes to have a new one done up. I asked for it to be heated to approx. 170 degrees, I think burgers need to be heated to at least 160 to kill bacteria. The person who made the first burger tried to serve it to me at 130 degrees (I asked him to use a food thermometer to test it.) and the manager was apparently in a meeting. After a bit a lead cashier (not sure of her exact title) went to the grill and discovered it wasn't properly heated to cook food on. She placed the burger on the flat top instead and got it to 179 degrees for me and refunded my money for the meal. The cook who made my burger the first time also tried to give another customer a grilled chicken burger at below 170 degrees. Maybe he should visit the exhibit about bacteria (if there is one). I'm 31 weeks pregnant and had a nibble of the original burger before noticing it was pink. I'm hoping I'll be alright but I hope anyone visiting the restaurant in the future is aware of the lack of food safety training and pays close attention to their own food.

It's a decent science centre but pales in comparison to some of the others in other notable cities. Geared a bit more towards kids but adults can still benefit and enjoy their time here. It's definitely NOT a must-visit for visitors to Toronto though, so if you are forced to choose between this and something else (for your CityPass or just simply because of lack of time), you're probably better off heading elsewhere. Avoid coming on weekdays because it is a jungle with the amount of kids and school field trips running around. There is plenty of parking but otherwise this isn't the most accessible location.

I thoroughly enjoy this place with my son. It is taken care of. Lots of interesting activities for him being a five-year-old. And also things to keep an adult mind active. The cafeteria is always well taken care of which I greatly appreciate and the staff is always friendly and courteous. The reason I gave it four stars out of five is that I don't like the new membership standards. Parking has now gone up. And from what I understand I get less of a discount at the cafeteria itself for being a science center member. But all-in-all thank you very much for the wonderful job that you people do I appreciate you having this place open. Cheers
