We were so happy to have chosen Hart House for our wedding. Great food, amazing staff and a stunning backdrop. Everything worked out very smoothly and exactly as planned. Tara was fantastic to work with throughout the planning process and did a great job coordinating with our vendors. She is exceptionally organized and made what could have been a stressful day so seamless. Thank you!
Thank you so much to Hart House! It was a gorgeous wedding! Everything went well and we enjoyed ourselves! The food, equipment, support staff, were great. We have no complaints at all. Beautiful !
Had our engagement shoot at the Hart House last month and the pictures came out nice! Some of my friends commented the place reminds them of Hogwarts :) You need a permit to do professional photography and it costs $450 for 2 hours. Permit is free if you're doing your wedding at the Hart House. If either bride or groom went to U of T for school, you can rent the place for 50% off. The cost you pay includes an assistant who can move furniture around for you.
Im biased because I was on the House committee but I love this spot, forever. A great escape from the city where you can relax and unwind. It also has an interesting history. Cheap(ish) for weddings and private events too!
Cool and well maintained building. Has a medieval feeling to it but can host small gatherings and meetings. Best of it all, it's on University of Toronto St George campus
Hart House is aptly named as its brilliant castle walls have played host to thousands of beautiful love stories.
Easily it is one of our favourite places we have had the privilege of performing at over the years (in no small part because of the full-sized grand pianos that are always in perfect tune.)
Its continued popularity is no secret with the enchanting architecture and warm atmosphere enhanced by their incredibly helpful and friendly sales team. Love is always in the air at Hart House *****
We have booked bands for clients at this very classy venue and love it!
I photographed a wedding at Hart House in 2003 and I loved the venue so much that I decided to have my own wedding there in 2005. They were excellent to work with as a photographer and of course, I got amazing treatment as a bride. I had a winter wedding and this venue was absolutely perfect with it's cozy fireplace, gothic architecture and high ceilings. We also had a lot of music at our wedding and the acoustics were fantastic. It probably helped that a piano tuner came in before the music began. Even though my wedding took place in February, we still managed to get photos outdoors!
The wedding I photographed in 2003 took place in the summer and they made use of the courtyard as well as The Great Hall.
In 2015, I photographed another wedding in the smaller music room there. That was also the perfect place for a ceremony and the grounds of Hart House are one of my favourite places to photograph people in all of Toronto.
Hart House holds a special place in my heart as I spent a lot of time there during my University days at U of T. When Sarah & Nick asked me to plan their wedding at Hart House, I was very excited about the opportunity. The venue was very special to them as well, as they had met their while attending U of T. From start to finish the staff at Hart House was welcoming and professional making it a pleasure to work with them. If you are looking for a unique and stunning historic space to host your wedding - and one that offers an outdoor garden space with magnificent architecture and charm (something which is hard to find in downtown Toronto) - you should definitely consider Hart House.
