About
From background ambiance to high-energy partying, the Nova Sounds Band has been chosen 15 times by TORONTO LIFE as "The Best of the City" in live music curation! We provide soloists, duos, trios, quartets plus our 5 to 9-piece group, performing an ever-growing playlist of over 2000 songs that include Top 40, R&B, rock, dance/disco, Motown, country, jazz, classical, Latin, Italian, Hebrew/Jewish, Greek, and more!
We're proud of the Juno and Grammy-winning vocalists and musicians, both past & present, in our band! At the helm is our Creative Director Dr. Alan Shiner, who has worked onstage and in the studio as a keyboardist, producer, and composer with legendary artists like Mariah Carey, Drake, Ne-Yo, Martin Short, Baby Face and The Pointer Sisters in Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, London and Miami. He has also penned several iconic jingles like "967-11-11" (Pizza Pizza), "Everyone Loves Marineland," "African Lion Safari," "Sleep Country Canada," "Sunwing.CA," and "Swiss Chalet."
Nova Sounds Entertainment services also include TruVibe DJs + MC'ing and customized sound & lighting production.

From the beginning, Alan was great to work with. He really took the time to understand the vibe we wanted and made the whole process feel easy and personal.
The string quartet played beautiful music for our ceremony and cocktail reception. Then the Nova Sounds band, along with their TruVibe DJ, kept the energy building all night, starting with dinner and continuing with dancing the rest of the night. They read the room perfectly and had our guests on the dance floor the entire night.
Beyond how talented the musicians and vocalists were, we really appreciated how organized and professional the whole team was. Everything ran seamlessly and took so much stress off us.

The sound technician arrived early at the venue and ensured the sound quality was perfect at every location in the room.
Nova Sounds had dedicated musicians for our affair, with incredible talented singers that added to the amazing sound of the band. The singers all had amazing vocal range and together with the instruments added such depth to their sound.
Their performances complemented each other, and we saw that they truly enjoyed celebrating with us. Nova Sounds were able to fill the room with such energy that made our wedding such a warm and welcoming affair.
Allan was present at our party. Leading the band as well as playing keyboard. Allan has the phenomenal ability to read the party. If we were eating, the music was appropriate, the sound level was low, and we could talk at the tables.
In between courses, Allan picked music that filled the dance floor. After the meal and speeches, Nova Sounds kept our guests entertained and dancing till the wee hours.
