From background ambiance to high-energy partying, the Nova Sounds Band has been chosen 15 times by TORONTO LIFE as "The Best of the City" in live music curation! We provide soloists, duos, trios, quartets plus our 5 to 9-piece group, performing an ever-growing playlist of over 2000 songs that include Top 40, R&B, rock, dance/disco, Motown, country, jazz, classical, Latin, Italian, Hebrew/Jewish, Greek, and more!

We're proud of the Juno and Grammy-winning vocalists and musicians, both past & present, in our band! At the helm is our Creative Director Dr. Alan Shiner, who has worked onstage and in the studio as a keyboardist, producer, and composer with legendary artists like Mariah Carey, Drake, Ne-Yo, Martin Short, Baby Face and The Pointer Sisters in Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, London and Miami. He has also penned several iconic jingles like "967-11-11" (Pizza Pizza), "Everyone Loves Marineland," "African Lion Safari," "Sleep Country Canada," "Sunwing.CA," and "Swiss Chalet."

Nova Sounds Entertainment services also include TruVibe DJs + MC'ing and customized sound & lighting production.

I'm soooo glad we picked Nova Sounds for the music at our wedding!!! We had their string quartet for our ceremony and the cocktail hour, then the Nova Sounds band for dinner, and then the band and their TruVibe DJ did the whole rest of the night for the dancing. WOW--they were all perfect! The string quartet was just beautiful and they played exactly what we asked for. then the band took over and played just the right songs and mood for dinner. And it wasn't too loud, so everyone could still talk. Then the band and their DJ did an AMAZING job for the dance, perfect mix of oldies and favourite hits, just like we asked for, and they actually managed to get everyone up and dancing and feel included--even my grandparents! I'll never forget it! Alan, the guy who runs the whole show, was really super-easy to deal with. Do I recommend them? Absolutely!!

I first heard Nova Sound at my golf club ( Mississaugua) on a Friday night in August and was very impressed…in fact of all the groups that have played on a Friday night on the patio I felt that this one was far and away the best that I have heard.
So… I engaged them to play at the opening reception of my firm’s annual Symposium in Niagara on the Lake and they did not disappoint.
The sound, style, sophistication and overall music was and is absolutely first class and thus I have highly recommend that the club retain the band plus their exceptional vocalist Sonya for the 2027 patio season as well as any events held at the club where first class music would be an added benefit.
Bottom line….they are a very talented group who deserve a ten star recommendation.

We had Nova Sounds Band and True Vibe Dj's at our wedding this past summer. They were easy to deal with and what they delivered was fantastic! The best music, all our guests were up and dancing all night. I t was wonderful and we could't be happier.

We spent a lot of time thinking about the music for our wedding because we wanted each part of it to feel a little different. Nova Sounds Entertainment understood that right away! They learned special music for our ceremony and cocktail reception that was beautifully played by their string quartet. Then, the Nova Sounds Band performed during dinner at a perfect volume that allowed our guests to talk and enjoy themselves. When it was time to party, the band and their TruVibe DJ quickly got us and our guests on the dance floor where we all had the best time until the end of the night!! We’re really glad we had Nova Sounds there to be part of our wedding!

We booked Nova Sounds Entertainment for our wedding, and one of the biggest things we appreciated was how smoothly everything came together. Their Creative Director Alan met with us multiple times to help plan out the music and itinerary from beginning to end, so we never had to worry about a thing and could relax and enjoy the night. From our first planning chat to the last song, communication was clear and easy. The Nova Sounds Band was awesome, and their TruVibe DJ Luis kept everything flowing between sets! Their sound system and lighting were also amazing! We had a great night and so many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the music! Nova Sounds Entertainment is #1!!

We had such an amazing experience with Nova Sounds Entertainment at our wedding! The Nova Sounds Band and their TruVibe DJ Luis were fantastic, and together they did an incredible job keeping the party going all night. We loved how the music brought everyone together on the dance floor, from our grandparents to our friends. It felt exactly how we imagined our night would be and we’re so happy that we chose Nova Sounds. We’d recommend them in a heartbeat!
